Honouring the Strength and Spirit of Women

Honouring the strength and wisdom of women – Jaguar Dream reflection on sisterhood and feminine spirit.

A Personal Reflection on Women’s Journey

Over the past few months, I have been reflecting deeply on what it means to be a woman.

In life, many of us carry so many roles at once. We are mothers, daughters, wives, sisters, and friends. Each role holds responsibility, care, and love.

As mothers, we want to give our children the very best of ourselves. We protect them with a strength that sometimes surprises even us. There is something instinctive in that love, something ancient and powerful. Like a protective bear or a watchful wolf, ready to stand for those we love.

Yet while we give so much, we often place ourselves last. Between caring for children, supporting our partners, working, maintaining a home, and trying to be present for everyone around us, it can sometimes feel like there is very little space left for our own inner world.

Many women know this feeling well.

We want to be good mothers.
We want to be supportive partners.
We want to be loving daughters to our parents.
And we try to be strong even when we feel tired or uncertain.

Sometimes we also long for the same understanding and support that we offer to others. And when it is not always there, we learn to find strength within ourselves.

But something beautiful also exists within the lives of women – the bond between women.

In my own life, I am deeply grateful for the female friends who have become like sisters to me. Women who listen, who share their experiences honestly, and who stand beside each other during difficult moments. Sometimes our opinions differ, sometimes our paths look different, but the connection remains.

I have noticed that when I witness another woman embracing her own path or overcoming a challenge, it reminds me of my own resilience.

When I see a friend struggling, I try to be present in the ways I can: a phone call, a shared laugh, or simply lending a listening ear. And in those moments, I feel the strength that comes from being there for one another.

The Ancient Circle of Women

Sometimes I imagine women in earlier times gathering together, sharing stories, supporting one another, and passing down knowledge about life, family, healing, and the rhythms of nature.

I see the same spirit alive today in my own life. I remember evenings spent talking with close friends over tea or cacao, sharing things we might not say anywhere else. These moments remind me of the circles that came before, and how their strength and understanding still live on.

These circles were places of listening, understanding, and quiet strength. They reminded women that they were never meant to face life alone.

Even today, something of that ancient connection still lives within us.

We recognise it when we sit with another woman and speak openly from the heart.
We feel it when we support a friend during a difficult time.
We sense it when women come together with honesty and compassion.

It is a reminder that beyond all our roles and responsibilities, there is also a deeper sisterhood connecting us.

A circle that continues through generations.

Reconnecting with the Earth

Over time, I have also begun to feel a deeper connection to nature and to the Earth itself.

Many cultures have long recognised the Earth as a nurturing mother, a living presence that supports all life. When we slow down and reconnect with nature, we become more aware of what’s really going on inside us.

We realise that we are part of this living world, just as it is part of us.

Perhaps this is why women have always carried such powerful roles in families and communities. There is an intuitive wisdom that lives quietly within many women, — a deep capacity to nurture, to feel, to protect, and to guide life forward.

Yet even with all this strength, we are still human. We continue to learn, grow, and discover new parts of ourselves throughout life.

Sometimes we sense that there is more wisdom inside us waiting to unfold, even if we cannot fully understand it yet.

And maybe that is part of the journey.

A Gentle Reminder for Women

On this International Women’s Day, I simply want to honour women everywhere for their strength, their compassion, their resilience, and the love they bring into the world.

And perhaps today can also be a gentle reminder.

To pause.
To take a breath.
To reconnect with yourself.

To remember that your presence, your care, and your spirit matter more than you may realise.

With gratitude for all women walking their unique paths.
